20th CREBA National Convention

The 20th CREBA National Convention focuses on the synergy between tourism and real estate as effective twin engines of growth to rev up the Philippine economy. As the 2011 Tourism and Real Estate Congress with the theme “Tourists Today, Real Estate Investors Tomorrow”, it shall provide the needed perspectives on these global concepts and tap into the unlimited opportunities of these emerging and fast expanding markets.

CREBA is the acronym for Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations, Inc., the umbrella organization of the real estate and housing industry. It is the single biggest organization of about 4,500-s professionals and aggrupations, comprising the widest cross-section of the housing and real estate industry, namely, developers, brokers, appraisers, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, engineers, architects, and others engaged in the shelter and real estate business. In October 1973, Atty. Manuel M. Serrano, joined by the leaders of the industry, namely, Messrs. Antonio Avecilla, Luis Bernasconi, Victor Buencamino Jr., Cesar Caliwara, Demetrio Capuyoc, Rosendo Donida, Mariano Goce, Oscar Ilustre, Octavio Kalalo, Mariano Lucero, Ariston Nakpil, Romulo Reyes, Victorio Soliven, Artemio Valencia, and Rodolfo Valencia, formally founded CREBA. The Chamber is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization (NGO).

Tourism Secretary Alberto A. Lim acknowledges CREBA’s dynamic initiatives in promoting tourism and providing an assembly for working relations among stakeholders from various industries. In an official endorsement provided by the Department, tourism partners and stakeholders were encouraged to explore the unique possibilities the Convention could help bring about to their various associations and businesses.
