CONVENTION OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES

The influx of tourists, balikbayans, and Overseas Filipinos visiting the country brings unprecedented interest, opportunities and resources to the Philippine economy. The Baby Boomers from scores of the world’s aging populations provide a retirees’ market of 10,000 per day worldwide. Tropical climate makes the Philippines an ideal retirement place where tourists can get the most value for their hard-earned savings. More and more Asian families are sending their children over to study in our best universities. OFWs, their foreign families and friends bring home with them renewed confidence and optimism to invest in the local economy.

In the midst of all these positive developments, real estate remains as the best option for solid investment, resilient amidst economic booms and busts and other turbulences of the past.

The 20th CREBA National Convention focuses on the synergy between tourism and real estate as effective twin engines of growth to rev up the Philippine economy. The real estate industry serves as the “facilities provider” in support of the national tourism development programs and initiatives under R.A. 9593 or the National Tourism Act of 2009 that bring to fore emerging global tourism concepts as embodied in the TIEZA Law, the entertainment cities, medical & wellness tourism and retirement havens for the world’s baby boomers, among others.

The CREBA Tourism & Real Estate Congress 2011 with the theme “Tourists Today, Real Estate Investors Tomorrow” shall provide the needed perspectives on these global concepts and tap into the unlimited opportunities of these emerging and fast expanding markets.
